The Sermon on the Mount has been called the most important body of teaching from the life of Christ. It is the most popular of his discourses and is recognized even by those who do not accept him as God’s Son and the Savior of the world. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus describes the character, 的态度, and actions of those who desire to be citizens of the Kingdom of God. He interprets much of the Old Testament Law in light of his arrival in a manner which challenges the presuppositions of the crowd. Jesus begins this discourse with the Beatitudes and closes it by offering his listeners two types of foundations upon which to build their lives.
